Since graduating in 2016 with a BA (Hons) Musical Theatre degree at Southern Theatre Arts, Sophie-Bea has been coaching for 6 years, both at Rosemead Preparatory School and privately, with 100% exam pass rates of
Distinctions and Merits.

Lessons for aged 7+

• Vocal Warm Ups and Exercises:
  Students will start by learning an array of vocal warm up exercises to maintain a safe and healthy voice when singing.

• ABRSM Prep Test
  For younger students, the ABRSM Prep Test would be the first exam to focus on, to gain an understanding of the basics within singing and some basic aural training/theory.

• Trinity Rock and Pop Exams
  Graded exams (Initial - Grade 8) are taken through the Trinity Rock and Pop syllabus. Three popular songs will be performed in the exam with aural tests. A fun and enjoyable way to take an exam.

• NEW! ABRSM Musical Theatre Exams
  Exams focussing on Musical Theatre songs are now available.
  - Musical Theatre Practical - Grades 1-5 available
  Three accompanied songs, one unaccompanied song, sight-singing and aural tests.
  - Musical Theatre Performance - Grades 1-8 available
  Three accompanied songs from the syllabus and one accompanied song of your choice. This is an opportunity to show a range of characters.

• Musical Theatre Training
  A chance to focus on a range of contemporary musical theatre songs within different genres. Students will gain more knowledge about contemporary musicals and be able to put an audition portfolio and repertoire together.

• Music Theory and Aural Training
  Students will learn the basics of music theory through the Trinity College London Theory of Music Workbooks, to back up their singing knowledge. This will include writing high and low notes, naming grade 1 notes, note values, rests, key signatures and much more.
